The Head of Mission and the Cuban delegation participate in the closure of the Host City of the Special Olympics 2019

The head of the diplomatic mission in the United Arab Emirates, Jorge León Cruz, and the Cuban sports delegation to the Special World Olympic Games, chaired by the methodology of the Ministry of Education, Mirian Menéndez Peña, participated in the closure of the Host City Program that, prior to the start of the competitions, all delegations were offered to enjoy the hospitality, customs and traditions of the country through artistic, cultural and community events.

 

The three days of the program were closed with an evening of multicultural musical acts that enjoyed more than 4,000 athletes and coaches, who expressed a great sense of happiness for being part of this incredible event, held at Dubai's Global Village, a family destination that highlights what best of the international culture in pavilions where a great variety of countries of the world are represented.

 

The Cuban sports representation is made up of the weightlifters Yoandy Beltrán (SSP) and Yaritza Parrado (VCL), Irina López (GRA), Mandy Mojena (MAT), Yulieser Ortega (ART) and Roberto Luis Fernández (MAY) of athletics and the swimmers Katiuska Patiño and Yurisnel Rojas, both from Las Tunas.
