North Tongu, June 11, 2022. - With the attention to more than 1600 patients, the state mission of Cuba in Ghana carried out a Health Day in the North Tongu district, marking the beginning of the activities for June 14, the anniversary of the birth of Ernesto Ché Guevara.
Doctors from the Cuban Medical Brigade in Ghana teamed up with local doctors to provide free medical care to the villagers, who also received medicines as a donation from the Member of Parliament for the constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
The event was graced by the presence of the local traditional leaders who welcomed the Cuban representatives and thanked them for the immense outreach for the health of the residents and was addressed by the Chairman of the NDC in the North Tongu constituency, Mr. C.K. Akaho Tay. Also speaking at the inauguration were the District Director of Health Services, Roland Glover; Member of Parliament, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and the Cuban Ambassador to Ghana, Anette Chao García.
North Tongu is a town located on the banks of the Volta River, 53.4 miles from the Ghanaian capital.
