Health professionals in Ankara analyze impact of blockade against Cuba

Health professionals in Ankara recently met to analyze the effects of US blockade policies against Cuba on the Caribbean country's health system.

During the meeting, they discussed the consequences of these measures, which for decades have imposed severe limitations on access to resources, medicines, medical equipment, and fuel necessary for the functioning of hospitals and health services.

Aslıhan Ilgazl, a member of the José Martí Friendship Association with Cuba and the TKP, participated in the debate, emphasizing the importance of strengthening international solidarity with the Cuban people in the face of these policies.

Participants also analyzed the impact of the current fuel crisis in Cuba on the functioning of the health sector and discussed possible support and cooperation initiatives to help alleviate its effects.

The meeting also provided an opportunity to reaffirm the commitment of health organizations and professionals in Türkiye to international solidarity and to defending the Cuban people's right to develop their health system without external pressure or sanctions.
