Cairo, August 22, 2026. The second meeting of Cubans living in the Egyptian capital took place in Cairo, with representatives from the Cuban community in attendance.
During the meeting, hosted by Ambassador Alexander Pellicer and First Secretary Odalys Capote, participants discussed various topics of consular interest, particularly the services the Embassy offers to its citizens and the new Law on Immigration, Foreigners, and Citizenship, which will take effect on November 1.
During the cordial meeting, the Cubans raised their questions and concerns regarding immigration matters and expressed their gratitude for the Embassy’s initiative, which gave them the opportunity to engage directly with the diplomatic representatives of Cuba.
An educational activity was also held with the children in attendance on national symbols and their meanings.
During the meeting, information was shared about the difficult situation Cuba is facing due to the intensification of the blockade, particularly the oil embargo, which is causing great suffering to the Cuban people. (Embacuba Egipto)
