Prof. Dr. Krasae Chanawongse, renowned Thai academician and President of the "KRIRK" and "Naresuan" universities nominated today #Cuba's "Henry Reeve" International Medical Brigade to the 2021 Nobel Peace Prize.
Prof. Krasae highlighted that in the history of Cuba, "Henry Reeve" has become a paradigm of international solidarity. Up to 10/8/2020 it has assisted 45 nations and 5 non-self-governing territories, delivering medical care to approximately 4 million people and saving more than 89,000 lives. Created on 19 September 2005, "Henry Reeve" assisted in combating the Ebola epidemic in Africa, in cooperation with WHO, and is helping fight Covd-19 in 39 countries. Historically, more than 9,000 Cuban healthcare professionals have participated in the international brigade’s missions.
A medical doctor himself, Prof. Dr. Krasae has served in past years as Minister of Education, Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Public Health and five times parliamentarian of the Kingdom. He is also the founder of the “College of Asian Scholars”, and the President of the “Asian Disaster Preparedness Center” (NGO).
