Historical relations between the Communist Parties of Vietnam and Cuba stand out in Hanoi

On the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV), the Cuban ambassador, Lianys Torres Rivera, spoke with Vietnamese Television (VTV) about the outstanding role of the Party to Party ties in the historical brotherhood that unites Vietnam and Cuba.

Torres Rivera recapitulated recent milestones in the relations between both Communist Parties, including the visit to Cuba in 2018 of the General Secretary of the PCV, Nguyen Phu Trong, and the holding of the IV Theoretical Seminar between the two political organizations, that same year in Havana.

The Cuban representative also stressed that in 2018 seven members of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) visited Vietnam, including President Miguel Díaz-Canel, while in 2019 two members of the Political Bureau of the PCV and Several members of its Central Committee met the agenda in Cuba.

The diplomat recalled the role of the Party, under the wise leadership of Ho Chi Minh, in the anti-fascist resistance in Indochina, the fight against French colonialism, as well as the war against US imperialism and for national reunification.

The achievements in more than 30 years of Renovation demonstrate the ability of the PCV to conduct the new transformations. His leadership drives the political and economic integration of Vietnam, and the country's international activism in promoting peace and multilateralism, he said.

The Ambassador informed that soon an event will take place in Cuba for the 90th anniversary of the PCV, with the presence of Truong Thi Mai, member of the Political Bureau and head of the Mass Mobilization Commission of its Central Committee, who chairs the official delegation to the XXIX International Book Fair of Havana, in which Vietnam is a Guest of Honor Country. #CubaVietnam60years.
