The Humanistic Solidarity Association Cuba-Santa Lucia held last Saturday its V Biannual General Meeting, which was dedicated on this occasion to the 40th anniversary of the establishment of relations between the two countries, held on August 23. As a result of the meeting, a new executive committee of the organization was elected, leading which was ratified as President Marlene Alexander. During his speech Marlene reiterated the invariable position of solidarity and friendship with Cuba and against the US blockade. He also expressed his commitment to continue strengthening the work of the Association throughout Santa Lucia and in the different sectors of his society and continue working to strengthen the basis of the friendship between both peoples. The Ambassador of Cuba, Alejandro Simancas, thanked Marlene and all the friends who, over many years, have worked selflessly and voluntarily for solidarity with Cuba and expressed that the Association was the main exponent of the sincere friendship between the peoples from Cuba and Santa Lucia. During the meeting, the journalist and writer Earl Bousquet and the Vice President of the Executive Committee of the Peter Lansiquot Association spoke, which recalled the years of profound and fruitful bilateral collaboration. The Honorable Sara Flood Beabrum, who reaffirmed the position of friendship with Cuba, participated in representation of the government of Santa Lucia.
