In the context of the preparations for the 20th European Summit of Solidarity with Cuba, a significant visit was made to the Okmeydanı Neighborhood House of the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP), with the participation of representatives of Cuban and international organizations.
Present at the meeting were the President of the Turkey-Cuba Friendship Association (JMKDD), Nahide Özkan; the Consul General of the Republic of Cuba in Istanbul, Raúl E. Madrigal Cárdenas; the First Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Noemí Ramona Rabaza Fernández; and the Director of Europe of ICAP, Rigoberto Lázaro Zarza Ross.
The meeting took place under the title “The Foundations of Cuban Democracy: Committees for the Defense of the Revolution”, and allowed for an enriching exchange with the neighbors of the Okmeydanı neighborhood, who showed great interest in learning about the functioning of the system of popular participation in Cuba, as well as in strengthening ties of solidarity with the Cuban people.
This activity is part of a series of initiatives organized in view of the celebration of the XX European Summit of Solidarity with Cuba, which will bring together activists, organizations and social movements committed to the cause of sovereignty and self-determination of the Caribbean nation.
