III CARIBBEAN FILM FESTIVAL 2024
The House of the Caribbean (Casa del Caribe), the Museum of Image and Sound "Bernabé Muñiz Gibernau" and the Provincial Film Center of Santiago de Cuba invite filmmakers, critics and researchers from the Caribbean region to participate in the Caribbean Film Showcase to be held from July 4 to 8, 2024 in the 43rd edition of the Caribbean Festival "Fiesta del Fuego". This year will be dedicated to Brazilian cinema and filmmaker Sara Gomez.
Therefore, we invite filmmakers from all over the Caribbean and other areas that deal with Caribbean themes to send their audiovisual materials for this III edition of the Caribbean Film Festival. We accept short and feature films, whether documentary, animation or fiction. To send films, it is necessary to send the following information to the e-mail addresses indicated below:
1. Director's name and contact information
2. Title of film
3. Brief synopsis
4. Running time
5. Link (youtube, vimeo, google drive)
When your audiovisual material is accepted, registration should be made to www.casadelcaribe.net.
The objective of the exhibition is to make visible the cinema made in the Caribbean region, as well as the theoretical thinking developed from it. Different films, theoretical panels and meetings with filmmakers who make films in this geographic area or who address the culture and identity of the same in their audiovisual works will be presented. The conference will be held at the Museum of Image and Sound "Bernabé Muñiz Gibernau" and the Rialto Cinema.
The theoretical session is open to film critics and researchers.
Those interested may send their documentation to the addresses below, in Word format, Times New Roma, 12 point, with an extension of 5000 to 8000 words (approximately 15 to 20 pages, letter type), 1.5 spaced (1.5). Such limits include notes, tables, graphs, illustrations, annexes and appendices.
Texts must be sent before June 1st to be evaluated by the Organizing Committee, who will announce their acceptance or rejection on June 15th of the same year.
