Important delegation of the health sector to visit Cuba from Zimbabwe.-
A major delegation from the health sector in Zimbabwe will make an official visit to Cuba from September 17 to 24, invited by Cuban Health Minister Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda
Headed by the Minister of Health of Zimbabwe, Dr. David Parirenyatwa, the delegation is also composed of the United Nations Coordinator and representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Zimbabwe, Mr. Bishow Parajuli, and the representatives of the World Health Organization and UNICEF in this country, Dr. David Okello and Dr. Mohammed Ag Ayoya, respectively.
A group of senior officials from the Zimbabwean Ministry of Health completes the delegation.
The purpose of the visit is to familiarize themself with the Cuban health system, and to know the advances in this sector, particularly with regard to the prevention and treatment of HIV / AIDS, as well as to explore new avenues of possible cooperation between the largest of the Antilles islands and the southern Africa country.
During the stay in Cuba, the delegation whose visit coincides with the recovery phase after the onslaught of Hurricane Irma, will be received by the island's health minister Dr. Roberto Morales Ojeda and also plans to visit entities that show the development of Cuba in the sphere of pharmaceutical industry and research, among other interests.
