Jakarta, April 16th -The prominent Indonesian musician and intellectual Jaya Suprana published an article about the international cooperation political management in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. Entitled “Complicates Humanity”, the work raises the concern regarding the US attitude on the international Cuban cooperation programs.
“The United States is pressuring its allies to refuse Cuban medicine personnel, and drugs to treat respiratory diseases caused by corona virus. Cuba sent medical teams and medicines to countries suffering from Corona, including China, Venezuela and Italy. Cuba also supplies Interferon Alfa 2-B which has been proven to cure more than 1,500 patients infected with the corona virus and was chosen as one of 30 anti- viral used by the Chinese National Health Commission.”- read the article.
In other part of the text, Mr. Suprana call attention on the US blockade policy against Cuba, stated for more than 60 years: “It was said that the UN had officially asked the United States to soften the politics of embargo against Iran, North Korea, Venezuela and Cuba during the corona era that hit the world. The United States softened the embargo on Iran, North Korea and Venezuela, but insists on tightened the embargo on Cuba. Even Donald Trump's government banned the export of ventilators to Cuba to hinder Cuba's humanitarian efforts to help the world community overcome corona. It´s worrying how such a large as the United States would make it difficult for small Cuba such an effort to help humankind save themselves from the fury of the Covid-19 blast.”
The author concluded: “Instead of provide assistance, the United States insist killed the character of a country that provides humanitarian assistance to countries that need help to fight the wrath of the corona. It is common for adherents the capitalism to consider humanism as nonsense which actually hinders the rapid pace of development progress.”
