Nassau, March 8th, 2021. March 8 is always a day of flowers and recognition of women. In the case of Cuba, there can never be a lack of honoring and exalting those who, day by day, tirelessly, give all their effort for the better well-being of their families and their communities. From Mariana Grajales and Isabel Rubio in the Mambi fields, or Celia Sánchez and Haydee Santamaría in the rebel struggle; Until the Marianas of today, women have been essential at all times.
A few miles from our country, in the archipelago of The Bahamas, Cuban women, from the most diverse professions, dedicate themselves to their work, without ceasing to take care of their families here and in Cuba. They have been working all this time for the Covid19 pandemic. Health and education collaborators, teachers, doctors, nurses, businesswomen, dentists, housewives, pharmacists, dance instructors, diplomats, and many others, carry out their work with full dedication, transpiring the beauty and freshness that comes from the Cuban woman, a worthy representative of Latin American women.
The Cuban Embassy congratulates all the women of Cuba, especially those who are currently in the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.
