The "Rotary Club of Bangkok South" received its charter on 7 August 1961. It is one of the oldest Rotary clubs in Thailand and one of the largest and most diverse Rotary Clubs in the Kingdom with 20 countries represented.
Excellent introductory get-together by ambassador Héctor Conde at the invitation of Khun Joe P. Thawilvejjakul, Regional Director of The Pacific Cigar Co., to address a distinguished and varied audience on key topics like the 60th Anniversaries of the Cuban Revolution and diplomatic relations between #Thailand and #Cuba, the Constitutional Reform process in Cuba and the new Magna Carta adopted by the Cuban People on February 24th, the updating process of the Cuban socio-economic development model, investment opportunities in Cuba and the main cooperation actions between Thailand and Cuba.
It was of special interest to members of the "Rotary Club of Bangkok South" Cuba's unwavering solidarity and support to the Bolivarian government of Constitutional President Nicolás Maduro Moros, our condemnation of the escalation of pressures by the US government in preparation for a military intervention in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the call by the Largest of the Antilles for an international mobilization in defense of peace in Venezuela and the region, based on the principles enshrined in International Law, the UN Chapter and the Proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace (adopted by CELAC in 2014).
The illegal 60-years old US blockade against Cuba was also denounced, and the latest attempt to strengthen it via Title III of the Helms-Burton Law.
At the cordial and enthusiastic gathering, details were provided on the 500th Anniversary of the foundation Havana, and FITCuba 2019 was announced - a high-level international Fair to be held in Havana from May 7-11, 2019.
