Interviewed Cuban Ambassador by Lao National Television

Vientiane, March 3, 2023.- The Lao National Television interviewed the Ambassador of Cuba accredited in this capital, H.E. Mrs.  Enna Viant Valdes, occasion in which she addressed various issues, including bilaterals and prospects for relations that reach half a century next year.

  The moment was propitious to update on the country's socio-economic development plans despite the tightening of the economic sanctions that the Island has faced. He also thanked the Lao government for the support to the Cuban resolution that condemns and calls for an end to the US economic commercial and financial blockade, againt Cuba.

 The diplomats highlighted the priority that friendship and cooperation have had in the relations between the two countries, and the high level of political dialogue that exists between the leaders of the respective Parties, Governments and the enduring relations at the people's level that have had a concrete expression in the collaboration maintained in the areas of education, health, sports and others of a multilateral nature.

On the other hand, Viant Valdes delved into the current democratic and transparent process that culminates on March 26, 2023 with the election of a renewed, superiorly qualitative Parliament.

  Finally, She highlighted the presence and incorporation of Cuban women, as one of the most relevant social achievements since the triumph of the Revolution in January 1959, which participation in Parliament ranks second in the world, with 53.2 percent representation in the legislative body. Regarding the proximity of the date of International Women's Day, she sent a fraternal and friendly greeting to the Laos and Cuban women.
