The Cuban Ambassador in Egypt, Tania Aguiar Fernández, participated, along with the diplomatic corps accredited in Cairo, in an invitation by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities to the opening of one of the new 59 sarcophagi found in the Saqqara funeral complex.
Buried more than 12 meters deep, they were found in perfect condition. In addition to the mummies, several animals were found, including mummified beetles, which is the novelty of this find.
The most recognized and prestigious of Egyptologists, Zahi Hawas, was present at the event.
