Invitation to Nordic/North European Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba 2025 in Copenhagen

Dear Friends of Cuba:
In The Nordic Countries, in the Baltic Countries + in Britain, Ireland and Germany
As we have informed before: The Danish-Cuban Association will host the next Nordic Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba.
This year we have decided to extend invitations and hope to also see friends of Cuba from the 3 Baltic countries, Britain, Ireland and Germany.
Why??
Because in these difficult times for Cuba we need to practice and to show the strongest possible solidarity. Therefore, we will use this North European Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba as an opportunity to convene a major solidarity-party/activity on Saturday night; inviting the Danish peace- and solidarity movement, trade unions, relevant political parties and groups, etc.
And we will try to attract the attention of the press.
We shall see how successful we can be, but your presence will be helpful - so hopefully see you in Copenhagen!
From Friday October 3rd to Sunday 5.
We will prepare the conference-program in detail at a board meeting May 17th.... and inform all of you shortly after.
IF you have input/ideas to the program, please send it to us before May 15th.
THE PURPOSE OF THIS MAIL is that you can order transportation to and lodging in Copenhagen.
We suggest that you book bed/room at Hostel Steel House (nr. 2 on attached map)
For single- and double-rooms, it might be cheaper at Missionshotellet Nebo (nr. 4) or Cab Inn City (nr. 3)
Alle hostels/hotels are within short walking-distance from each other and from the Conference location: Græsrøddernes Hus (nr. 1 on map.)
We suggest that everybody gather in the lobby at Hostel Steel House, Herholdtsgade 6, 1605 Copenhagen V Friday at 19:00 - to spend a few cosy hours together. Here you will also meet Elizabeth from ICAP, who will attend the conference and later make a speaking-tour in Denmark, Sweden and Norway.
The conference as such will start at 09:00 on Saturday... and finish Sunday early in the afternoon.
Please keep us informed about your participation (number/names etc. of participants), arrival and departure!
Price of participation in the conference will be 600 Danish kroner = 85 euro per person. This covers: Lunch Saturday and Sunday, dinner incl. one drink on Saturday, coffee, tea and cake during the conference.

Before we finish, let us add a few words about how we think of this conference:
Conference-language is English
It must be productive!
Sharing of experience, results and projekct is part of the conference and each participating organisation will have the opportunity to present the work (max. 10 minutes).
As mentioned, we will present the detailed program for the conference after our meeting on May 17th. However, let us share just two elements here:
At the conference:
We also intend to focus on containers/suitcases/material support to Cuba and on "productive-project-making" in Cuba. We would love Germany/Netzwerk Kuba to present their advanced experience in this field.
At the Saturday night semi-public activity:
We ask a representative from the Cuba-Solidarity Campaign in Britain to speak about Trade Union solidarity with Cuba and share their strong experience here.
Fundamentally, the aim of this meeting is for all of us to meet, share experience, double enthusiasm, coordinate, cooperate, organize, act - fight for and with Cuba!
