The Jamaica Cuba Friendship Association extends its heartiest congratulations to the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), Army General and Hero of the Republic, Raul Castro, on the occasion of his 89th birthday.
Companero Raul’s entire life has been in the service to the Cuban people. Firstly as one of the main protagonist in the struggle against the brutal Batista dictatorship leading to the triumph of the Cuban revolution and as one of the leaders, charged with building the new society guided by the PCC and government led by Fidel.
His calm and steady influence during 61 years of imperialist machinations and criminal blockade has endeared him not only to the Cuban people but to all who struggle for a better world and an implacable foe, to those who are against the people’s inalienable right for peace sovereignty self-determination.
We wish companero Raul good health, as he continues to impart his considerable knowledge and experience to a new generation of Cuban leaders, led president Miguel Diaz Canel and prime minister Manuel Marrero Cruz as they tackle the construction of a prosperous and sustainable socialism.
