Kingston, Jamaica, 12 January 2021. The Left Alliance for National Democracy and Socialism (LANDS) of Jamaica today expressed its solidarity with Cuba and condemned the inclusion of the island on the US State Department’s list of states sponsors of terrorism.
The Jamaican political organization tweeted messages, making its position clear on the matter.
First, it replied a tweet from Cuba's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, in which he condemns the designation of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, and stated: ‘In solidarity with Cuba, we also condemn the announcement by Pompeo and the Trump administration’; then, it replied a tweet from the US Secretary of State, Michel Pompeo, in which he accuses Cuba of supporting terrorism in the Western Hemisphere and announces the island’s inclusion on the aforementioned list, and stated: ‘The failed Trump administration has not suffered enough shame, so it continues to talk nonsense, even when it implodes in its very last days’; and concluded with an illustrative photomontage that reveals the profound contrast between the Cuban medical brigades and Trump supporters, after the question: ‘Which of these look like terrorists to you?’
