Kingston, Jamaica, 1 May 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, visited the headquarters of the People's National Party of Jamaica, where she was received by Dr. Peter Phillips, MP, President of that political party and Leader of the Opposition in the Parliament of Jamaica.
In a fraternal meeting, the Jamaican politician condemned the aggressive escalation of the US government against Cuba, with special emphasis on the imminent entry into force of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and the announcement of new measures to tighten the economic siege against Cuba.
Dr. Phillips ratified the support of his party for the struggle of the Cuban people to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the US government and recognized the impressive proof of unity and commitment offered by the Cuban people this May 1 in all squares of the country.
The Ambassador thanked the strong and historic position of the PNP in defense of the Cuban Revolution and its support in the approval by the Jamaican legislature, for ten consecutive years, of resolutions condemning the criminal US blockade against Cuba.
