Kingston, Jamaica, 26 April 2019. Horace Daley, member of the Jamaican Parliament, Opposition spokesperson on Labour and Social Security, Vice Chairman of the People's National Party (PNP) board and President of its International Relations Commission, confirmed the unconditional support of his party for the struggle of the Cuban people to lift the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government.
In a fraternal meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, at the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission, the Jamaican politician strongly condemned the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act and the entry into force of new measures announced by the United States government on last April 17 and aimed at tightening the economic siege against Cuba.
Title III of the aforementioned Law reinforces, in a dangerous manner, the extraterritorial component of the blockade policy imposed by the United States on the Cuban people and constitutes an attack on International Law and sovereignty, both in Cuba and in third countries.
The Ambassador thanked the strong and historic stance of the PNP in defence of the Cuban Revolution and the role played by Mr. Daley, in his capacity as parliamentarian, in the approval of resolutions condemning the US blockade against Cuba by the Jamaican legislature, for ten consecutive years.
