Jamaica Stock Exchange visits Cuba

Havana, 30 September 2024. A delegation from the Jamaica Stock Exchange led by its president Marlene Street Forrest and comprising executives of Jamaican companies made a working visit to Cuba between 25 and 28 September.

During their stay on the island, the delegation held meetings with executives of the Central Bank of Cuba, the Chamber of Commerce and the Ministry of Foreign Trade. During these meetings, possibilities for cooperation in economic and commercial matters were evaluated and the visitors were provided with information on the celebration of the Havana International Fair FIHAV 2024. They were also updated on our country's portfolio of opportunities and the existing potential, despite the intensification of the genocidal policy of the blockade and Cuba's continued inclusion on the spurious and unilateral list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

As part of the programme, they also toured the facilities of the Mariel Special Development Zone.
