From Jamaica, tribute to the Bronze Titan 129 years after his fall in combat.

Kingston, December 7, 2025. Convened by the Embassy of Cuba and the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica “Antonio Maceo,” a tribute was held to the Bronze Titan 129 years after his fall in combat, in front of the statue erected in his honor in Heroes Park in this city. Representatives of the State Mission, the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, political forces, and social movements also participated.

During the solemn ceremony, Maceo was described as a fierce and true mambí, one of the most important figures in the history of the homeland, who stood out as a combatant, strategist, and military leader. The validity of his political thinking was reaffirmed as a paradigm that continues to illuminate the path of the Revolution in the face of the genocidal policy of the blockade imposed by US imperialism and the island's continued inclusion on the spurious and unilateral list of states that allegedly sponsor terrorism.

The participants reiterated our country's solidarity with the brotherly Jamaican people in the aftermath of the devastating Hurricane Melissa. They reaffirmed their commitment to continue promoting cooperation ties in the year of the 53rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Jamaica and Cuba-CARICOM Day.
