Kingston, 14 June 2024. In front of the bust of the Bronze Titan in the Jamaican Heroes Park, members of the Cuban state mission in Jamaica, members of the Association of Cuban Residents (ACR) and the Movement of Solidarity with Cuba, representatives of youth organisations and social movements, paid tribute to two sons of the Revolution: Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.
In his words to those present, Second Secretary Rolando Dávila Gallardo highlighted the similarities in action and thought of "two giants that history has united beyond a date and a common ideal". The diplomat also emphasised the validity of their anti-imperialist ideas at a time when the US government's subversive campaigns against Cuba are intensifying and our country remains on the spurious and unilateral list of state sponsors of terrorism.
As part of the event, health and education collaborators highlighted the values shared by our heroes and reiterated the importance of making their thoughts and actions known to the new Latin American and Caribbean generations.
