Kingston, Jamaica, 26 February 2019. Ms. Olayinka Jacobs-Bonnick, Director of the British Council Caribbean introduced the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, to the two young men who will attend, on behalf of the Caribbean island, the VI edition of the Havana World Festival Music, to be held in Havana, between March 21 and 23 this year.
The young men study at the Alpha Institute, a Jamaican institution specializing in artistic education, and are part of the Backstage to the Future program sponsored by the British Council.
The Havana World Music Festival, considered the largest alternative music event of its kind in the Caribbean, coincides this time with the celebration of 500 years of Havana.
According to its organizers, the festival has established itself as one of the most popular events on the Cuban music scene, featuring international bands known for their authenticity and originality.
