KINGSTON, JAMAICA, 22 November, 2018.- Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Health of Jamaica, Sancia Bennett Templer, highlighted the important work carried out by Cuban medical collaborators in this sister Caribbean nation.
During a meeting with the Cuban Ambassador, Inés Fors Fernández, held at the Ministry of Health in this capital, the senior official reiterated the appreciation of her government for the permanent cooperation of Cuba that contributes to the betterment of the health care servies in the country.
The exchange also served to review issues from the bilateral agenda, in particular, the renewal of the cooperation agreement in the area of Health.
The Cuban Medical Brigade in Jamaica is presently composed by 290 medical collaborators, physicians, nurses and techincal specialists, located in all provinces.
Acknowledgement to Operation Miracle
During a visit to the Chest Hospital, in Kingston, which also serves as one of the venues of the Operation Miracle brigade, the Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton, highlighted te large number of patients that have recovered their eye sight thanks to tis project.
The Minister also praised the quality of the services offered by this brigade and the appreciation from the Government and people of Jamaica.
