Havana, September 18, 2023. Jamaica's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith, led the sister Caribbean nation's delegation to the G-77+China Summit held in Havana on 15-16 September.
In her address to the plenary, the Foreign Minister congratulated Cuba for its excellent tradition of South-South cooperation which made it a fitting host. She also congratulated the members of the G-77+China for the results achieved in digital technologies and recognised the importance of international cooperation to transform knowledge. He highlighted the need for equitable financing for science, technology and innovation, as set out in the 2030 agenda.
During the event, he held an exchange with the President of the Republic of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, in the context of a meeting with Caribbean leaders in which she described as exemplary the pro-tempore presidency of our country.
