Kingston, 12 November 2025. The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica the Honourable Kamina Johnson Smith received the Ambassador of Cuba Fermín Quiñones Sánchez in a farewell audience.
During the exchange, the Cuban diplomat thanked Jamaica for its support for the draft resolution against the genocidal blockade policy presented to the United Nations General Assembly on 29 October. He also reiterated the solidarity of our people following the devastating passage of Hurricane Melissa through the western region of the Caribbean island and reaffirmed Cuba's commitment to strengthening cooperation in the field of health.
Both parties recognised the good state of bilateral relations and the possibilities for collaboration in various sectors.
