Kingston, Jamaica, 20 February 2020. Mr. Dunstan Bryan, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Wellness of Jamaica, received today Mrs Inés Fors Fernandez, Ambassador of Cuba, at the Ministry’s headquarters.
In a highly respectful and cordial atmosphere, the parties reviewed the state of bilateral cooperation that Cuba and Jamaica have maintained for more than two decades in the field of health care provision.
The Jamaican official acknowledged the important contribution of Cuban health professionals to the public health system of his country, emphasizing the work they do under the Cooperation Agreements for Technical Assistance and for the operation of an Ophthalmological Centre in this sister Caribbean nation.
At present, 276 doctors, nurses and biomedical engineers serve in hospitals at every corner of the Jamaican geography.
