Jamaican people denounce the genocidal policy of the blockade and support the labour of Cuban health collaborators.

Kingston, 31 March 2025. Organised by member organisations of the Cuba Solidarity Movement in Jamaica, an event was held on the afternoon of Sunday 30 March to denounce the genocidal policy of the blockade and to support the labour of Cuban health collaborators. The event, held at the Mico University College, was also attended by representatives of the resident Cuban community.

Speakers included: leaders of the Jamaica-Cuba Friendship Association and its Kingston and St. Catherine chapters; the African Global Movement for Revolutionary Awakening; the Association of Cuban Residents in Jamaica; Friends of Cuba; the Jamaica Peace Council; the Left Alliance for National Democracy and Socialism (LANDS) and the PNPYO 1970s Past Members Association.

The participants called on the US government to end the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed against our country; they also qualified as false the accusations that attempt to label medical collaboration as forced labour. A representation of patients treated by our health professionals acknowledged the professionalism and dedication with which they work throughout the Jamaican territory.
