Jamaican students increasingly interested in Cuba

Kingston, Jamaica, November 21, 2017 . Near  70 Jamaican students visited the Embassy of Cuba last Friday, November 17th, aiming at learning more about the history, culture and traditions of the Greater of the Antilles.

Having as scenario the celebration of the Students International Day, middle high level students from Immaculate Conception High School  and Ardenne High School,  enjoyed an event during which they could also know about the oportunities offered by Cuba to carry out tertiary studies in all areas encompassed within the university education. 

The presentation offered by officials at the Embassy of Cuba in Kingston was key to establish point of coincidence between Cubans and Jamaicans that go beyond the geographic situation. 

Jamaican students also expressed interest on the potential creation of exchange programs to allow both Cuban and Jamaican youth to increase their knowledge and live a direct experience in both nations.  

Cuban Ambassador Inés Fors Fernández thanked for the interest by students and teachers and invited them to continue studying the Spanish language which is a fundamental tool to their personal development. 

Prior to concluding the event, the Jamaican students had the opportunity to learn about cuban rythms and dances and tasted an authentic Cuban menu.
