Jamaican Vice-Chancellor highlights relations with Cuba

Mrs. Marcia Gilbert-Roberts, CD, DCSG, JP, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica.

Kingston, Jamaica, 5 May 2019. The Ambassador of Cuba to Jamaica, H.E. Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández, paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade on 3 May, 2019. She was received by the Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Marcia Gilbert-Roberts, CD, DCSG, JP.

In a friendly talk, one that shows the excellent relations between the Jamaican and Cuban governments and peoples, both diplomats exchanged on various topics of common interest.

The Cuban Ambassador took the opportunity to thank Jamaica for its traditional support for the fight against the unjust and criminal economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba. One of the most notable achievements of this support has been the Jamaican legislative body’s approval, for ten consecutive years, of resolutions condemning this genocidal action.
