Jamaica’s Association of Graduates from Cuban Colleges reiterates its support for the Island

Kingston, Jamaica, 11 February 2021. Leaders of Jamaica’s Association of Graduates from Cuban Colleges reiterated their support for and solidarity with Cuba.

Doctors Lorenzo Gordon and Neville Graham referred to the positive impact of Cuba’s medical cooperation in Jamaica, highlighting the important contribution made by professionals from the Greatest Island in the Antilles to the fight against COVID-19.

The Jamaican doctors described the advances of the Cuban biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries in the development of vaccines against COVID as relevant, with 4 vaccine candidates currently in the clinical trial stages which, in their opinion, leaves open the possibility of immunizing the Cuban population in the year 2021.

These Cuban colleges’ past students also reiterated their call for lifting the economic, commercial and financial blockade unjustly imposed by the United States on Cuba.
