Kingston, Jamaica, 4 January 2021. The President of the People’s National Party of Jamaica and Leader of the Opposition, Mark Golding, extended, by way of the Embassy of Cuba in Jamaica, the following message to the Cuban people on the occasion of the 62nd Anniversary of the Triumph of the Revolution:
MESSAGE FROM THE PEOPLE’S NATIONAL PARTY TO THE PEOPLE OF CUBA ON THE ANNIVERSARY OF THE TRIUMPH OF THE REVOLUTION
On behalf of the People’s National Party, President Mark Golding congratulates the Government and People of Cuba on the anniversary of the Cuban Revolution.
On this significant occasion, the PNP admires and appreciates the resilience of the Cuban people, and their consistent solidarity with and tremendous support to the people of Jamaica over many years.
This tradition was most recently exemplified at the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, when Cuba sent a team of medical professionals to bolster Jamaica’s response to the dire public health crisis. We salute the Government and people of Cuba for stepping forward to assist Jamaica once again in this very challenging time.
Your unceasing generosity is all the more remarkable as Cuba has had to endure the ravages of a prolonged and unjust economic blockade. We again join with the international calls for an end to the blockade against Cuba.
We salute the Cuban people on this significant milestone in the history of their revolution, and look forward to the continuation of the respectful fraternal relations and mutual solidarity between our Party and the Government and People of Cuba.
