The meeting with Kemal Okuyan, Secretary General of the Communist Party of Türkiye, constituted a new expression of the historic ties of solidarity between that political organization and Cuba.
During the visit, Okuyan reiterated the firm support of the Communist Party of Türkiye for the Cuban people in the current context of threats and pressure from the government of the United States against the island. In a fraternal atmosphere, both sides exchanged views on the international situation and on ways to strengthen solidarity with Cuba.
In particular, they discussed concrete initiatives of material support for our country, especially in the health sector, as part of the efforts of the Communist Party of Türkiye and solidarity sectors of Turkish society to accompany the Cuban people in confronting the difficulties resulting from the blockade.
The meeting reaffirmed the willingness to continue expanding the ties of cooperation and solidarity between both sides, in defense of the sovereignty and well-being of the Cuban people.
