The United States government, as part of the policy of unacceptable sanctions and the blockade against Cuba, is inventing new pretexts and is preparing for the escalation of imperialist aggression against Cuba and its people.
This time, the U.S. government, in collaboration with the reactionary government of Ivan Duque in Colombia, is trying to include Cuba in a list of countries that supposedly cooperate with "terrorism," claiming that some members of the Colombian guerrilla movement ELN (National Liberation Army) remain in Cuba, who were there in talks with the previous Colombian government. The US claim is unfounded and dangerous. In the name of combating "terrorism," some of the greatest imperialist crimes of recent decades have been committed against peoples.
The KKE condemns this new step in the escalation of imperialist aggression and demands that all measures of the barbaric economic and trade blockade against Cuba be lifted. The KKE expresses its internationalist solidarity with the Communist Party of Cuba and defends the rights of the Cuban people and the other peoples of the region who are victims of imperialist attacks from United States of America and its allies.
