Yesterday, at the glorious Cuban Embassy in Vientiane, we paid posthumous tribute to the 32 martyrs and valiant Cuban combatants who fell in unequal combat against the cowardly and savage attack by the forces of the Empire in the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
In these days of sadness and immense sorrow, on behalf of the Laos-Cuba Friendship Association, the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Cuba, as well as all its members and the entire people of Laos, I would like to extend our deepest condolences and profound sympathies, and through you, to the families of the precious victims and to the competent authorities of Cuba.
The sacrifice of these 32 Cuban heroes demonstrated a shining example of courage and steadfastness in the defense of justice and the principles of sovereignty of a sister nation in Latin America, fulfilling with dignity the mission entrusted to them.
They have sown the seeds of courage and the spirit of solidarity and fraternity in the face of imperial aggression, and the physical disappearance of these martyrs has illuminated the path for other peoples to continue fighting for freedom and a life of peace and prosperity.
In these most difficult times, we reaffirm our unwavering and consistent support for the brotherly people of Cuba in the face of the new policy of escalating and criminal blockade imposed by the US administration against independent Cuba, despite the strong condemnation and forceful rejection by peace-loving and justice-minded nations of the world.
We remain convinced that the heroic and united people of Cuba, under the resolute leadership of their Communist Party, will prevail and continue advancing toward a brighter future!
