Helsinki, April 1, 2024.- In an emotional virtual meeting, the Director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Ms. Inga Krastina, exchanged with Ambassador Ms. Beatriz Parra González, during which they reviewed current issues on the bilateral agenda.
During the meeting, the Cuban representative provided an update on current issues in Cuba based on the impact of the US blockade and the processes of updating the national economy, while also referring to the recent defamation campaigns launched by the Secretary of State against Cuban medical collaboration.
The Caribbean diplomat had the opportunity to express her gratitude for Latvia's historic support of Cuba in its denunciation of the blockade, supporting the vote on the resolution at the United Nations as a member state of the European Union, which her counterpart expressed remains an unwavering position.
Likewise, the Ambassador expressed her gratitude to the Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through its Regional Director, as well as to her colleagues in the area, for the collaboration received during her term in Riga, which is about to conclude, given the end of her mission. She also mentioned the importance of continuing the progress made in bilateral ties.
