The Ambassador of Cuba to Ghana, Pedro Luis Despaigne González was received at the headquarters of the National Democratic Party (NDP) by its President, founder and presidential candidate, Dr. Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings.
During the meeting, the parties addressed issues related to the historical ties between Cuba and Ghana, and ratified the friendship between the “31 December Movement” and the Federation of Cuban Females.
The Ambassador of Cuba stressed the permanence of the blockade against Cuba despite the steps taken after the re-establishment of relations between the United States and the island, which was inconceivable for the Ghanaian political leader. The former First Lady thanked the support of Cuba to the formation and training of human resources in Ghana.
The first Secretary of the Embassy of Cuba, Julio César Sánchez Martínez also attended the meeting.
