Leader of the Opposition of Jamaica receives Cuban Ambassador

Mark Golding, President of the People’s National Party of Jamaica (PNP) and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, received this afternoon the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.

Kingston, Jamaica, 18 January 2021.- Mark Golding, President of the People’s National Party of Jamaica (PNP) and Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, received this afternoon the Ambassador of Cuba in Jamaica, H.E Mrs. Inés Fors Fernández.

During the meeting, developed in a friendly, cordial atmosphere, the Jamaican parliamentarian and politician and the diplomat from the Greatest Island in the Antilles discussed regional and international issues.

Mark Golding recognized Cuba’s international medical cooperation and praised the work carried out by Cuban health professionals in Jamaica. He also acknowledged the historical bonds of friendship that have marked the relations between the two neighbouring nations.

The Cuban Ambassador, in turn, reiterated her congratulations to the new Leader of the Opposition of Jamaica, a responsibility the latter has taken on since November 2020.
