Kingston, 14 June 2023. In front of the bust of the Bronze Titan in the Jamaican Heroes Park, members of the Cuban state mission in Jamaica, members of the Association of Cuban Residents (ACR) and the Cuban Solidarity Movement, representatives of youth organisations and social movements, graduates of the Garvey-Maceo High School, paid tribute to two sons of the Revolution: Antonio Maceo and Ernesto Guevara de la Serna.
In his words to those present, Second Secretary Rolando Dávila Gallardo highlighted the similarities in action and thought of "two giants that history has twinned beyond a date and a common ideal". The diplomat also highlighted the relevance of their anti-imperialist thinking, at a time when the US government's subversive campaigns against our country are intensifying.
Health and education collaborators highlighted the values shared by our heroes; Meliset Rodriguez, member of the ACR delighted those present with the song "Hasta siempre Comandante".
To conclude the activity, younger members of the state mission placed a wreath in front of the bust erected in memory of Maceo, the only one dedicated to a foreign hero in the park where the national heroes of Jamaica rest.
