Luxor Governor and Cuban Ambassador
Cairo. In the morning of Sunday, Luxor Governor, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Badr, received at the headquarters of the Government, the Cuban Ambassador Laureano Rodríguez Castro.
 
The representative of the greater of the Antilles, thanked the Governor and expressed their wishes of work by develop and strengthen relations between Cuba and Egypt in all spheres of mutual interest.
 
The Cuban Ambassador highlighted the excellent state of the relations between both countries, as well as the coincidence of points of views on various themes in international organizations.
 
Rodríguez Castro thanked the support of Egypt in fighting the blockade against Cuba and stressed that the sanctions remains intact, despite the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between Cuba and the United States, and the executive measures taken by President Obama to make more flexible it.
 
For its part the Governor coincided in the need to develop relations in fields of common interest, especially in tourism. He also ratified the solidarity of Egypt with Cuba, especially in the struggle for the Elimination of the blockade imposed by the United States for more than 50 years.
Both officials stressed the historical ties of friendship between Cuba and Egypt and the endearing friendship between Fidel and Gamal Abdel Nasser. (Embacuba Egipto)
