Namibia. - On the afternoon of October 20, 2022, Air Marshal Martin K Pinehas, Chief of the Defense Forces of the Republic of Namibia, received the Cuban Ambassador Sidenio Acosta Aday at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense and Veterans Affairs.
In the meeting held, the Cuban ambassador updated the Namibian counterpart on the latest developments related to the economic, financial, and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba, its detrimental effects on the quality of life of the Cuban people and the upcoming vote in the UN on the resolution condemning the blockade maintained by the US government against Cuba.
For his part, the Air Marshal conveyed a message of solidarity to the Cuban people, expressing his confidence that Cuba, as on other occasions, will overcome adversity and natural disasters. Pinehas also recalled passages from the war in Angola, in which he was a participant, where Cubans and Namibians shared the same trenches.
Martin Pinehas thanked him and his delegation for the attention received from the Cuban side during his working visit to Cuba last July 2022.
Officials from the General Staff of the Namibian Defense Forces and Rodolfo Ricardo Guzmán, Counselor of the Cuban diplomatic mission, also participated in the meeting.
