The newly elected mayoress of Banjul, Rohey Malick Lowe welcomed the Cuban ambassador, Lázaro Herrera, at her City Council´s office in Banjul, where they held a fraternal exchange. In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, the Cuban diplomat congratulated mayoress Malick Lowe for her election as head of City Hall and for being the first woman to hold this responsibility in The Gambia. At the same time, the ambassador expressed interest in strengthening the friendship ties between the embassy and the mayor's office as part of efforts to strengthen ties between the two countries. Both sides exchanged about the possibilities of collaboration in areas of interest for the Gambia, such as training of personnel in different specialties in function of the development of this African nation.
