Mayor of Lusaka welcomes the Cuban Ambassador.

Lusaka, February 10, 2026 – Cuban Ambassador to Zambia, Marileydis Dueñas Morales, paid a courtesy call to Ms. Chilando Chitangala, Mayor of Lusaka and Vice-President of the Regional Mayors Forum (RMF) of the Covenant of Mayors of Sub-Saharan Africa (CoMSSA).

During the meeting, they discussed matters of bilateral interest and the international agenda, centered on strengthening ties and a proposal to name a city street after former Cuban President Fidel Castro, highlighting the enduring relationship between Cuba and Zambia, within the framework of the celebrations for the centenary of Fidel Castro's birth (Cuban Embassy in Zambia).
