The Mayor of Oslo receives the Ambassador of Cuba to Norway

Oslo, October 7, 2022. The ambassador of Cuba, Maité Rivero Torres, paid a courtesy call to the Mayor of Oslo, Marianne Borgen, with a view to strengthening ties with this municipality, in which, being the capital of Norway, The Royal House, the National Government and the Parliament are located, as well as the accredited Diplomatic Corps.

In the cordial meeting, the Ambassador and the Mayor discussed the existing possibilities for the development of exchange and cooperation relations in different sectors, in particular between Oslo and Havana.

The Cuban diplomat availed herself of the opportunity to address issues related to the current situation in Cuba, among them the impact of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States, as well as the extensive damage caused by Hurricane Ian as it passed through the country and the progress of recovery efforts in the affected provinces.

The Mayor was accompanied by Thomas Bigset, advisor.  On the Cuban side, Daffne Ernesto Mirabal García, second secretary of the Embassy, ​​also participated. (Embassy of Cuba in Norway)
