Copenhagen, November 20, 2022. The Ambassador of Cuba, in the Kingdom of Denmark, Roger López García, was received by the Mayor of the Municipality, in the city of Silkeborg, Helle Gade, and by the Vice Mayor Johan Brødsgaard at the headquarters of the local government.
Both politicians, representatives of the Social Democratic Party, and Radikale Venstre, respectively, welcomed the Cuban diplomat to the city, with whom they shared amicably on various aspects of community development, the functioning of economic activity, education, the development health care, and other issues related to the social and cultural life of the inhabitants of the town.
For his part, the representative of the Greater Antilles, reported various aspects of the political, economic situation, including the development of tourism, and culture in our country, as well as management for the immunization of the population, with the use of own vaccine candidates, however, to the cruel intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States.
López García, after referring to the aspects that mark the cultural identity of Silkeborg with the Caribbean nation, by the work of the famous Danish painter, Asger Jorn; invited the representatives of the city to visit Cuba, to initiate and enrich the possibilities of an exchange with the local institutions of the Island, and its National Parliament.
The municipality of Silkeborg is located in the Central Jutland region. It has a population of 89,328 inhabitants, and its capital is the city of Silkeborg, with 42,807 inhabitants.
