The president of the Commission for National Defense and Foreign Relations of the Hellenic Parliament, Konstantinos Gioulekas, received the Ambassador of Cuba, Aramís Fuente Hernández.
During the meeting they discussed different issues of bilateral interest. Both highlighted the good level that exists in the relations between the Parliaments of the two countries, as well as the good prospects and the common interest in continuing to strengthen ties and cooperation, for which purpose they valued proposals in order to continue advancing. Likewise, they referred to different issues that are of interest to their respective countries.
Among other topics, the ambassador commented on the intense work carried out in his country in confronting the COVID 19 pandemic, which is already under control in Cuba, using its own vaccines, and offered updated information on the impact and damage that provokes in the country's economy and in all sectors of society the economic, commercial and financial blockade of which the Cuban people have been victims for more than 60 years.
He also highlighted the friendship and solidarity that characterize the relations between the two peoples and thanked Greece for its consistent position against the unilateral measures applied against Cuba and the support it offers in this regard to the resolutions of the General Assembly of the UN.
