Wellington, 12 de marzo de 2025.- The Cuban Ambassador to New Zealand, Luis Ernesto Morejón Rodríguez, met with Members of Parliament Phil Twyford and Megan Woods to discuss bilateral relations and cooperation between Cuba and New Zealand.
During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed his sincere gratitude to both MPs for signing the letter from Progressive International urging the U.S. government to lift sanctions against Cuba. He also highlighted the importance of international solidarity in promoting fair and constructive diplomatic relations.
The meeting also addressed opportunities for collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including health, education, and sustainable development. The MPs reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening ties between New Zealand and Cuba and recognized Cuba’s contributions in areas such as medical training and international cooperation.
The meeting underscored the shared values of both nations in advocating for a fairer and more equitable global order and reinforced the bonds of friendship between Cuba and New Zealand.
