Meeting of the Cuban ambassador with the general secretary of the Sri Lankan JVP party

Colombo, January 28, 2025. The Cuban ambassador to Sri Lanka, Andrés Marcelo González Garrido, was received at the headquarters of the JVP party, Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna, 'People's Liberation Front', by its general secretary Tilvin Silva.
The ambassador thanked them for the solidarity they have always received from this political force and the support for the Cuban revolution that they have shown over many years.
Tilvin Silva expressed that the JVP will continue to support Cuba in its struggle to lift the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed for more than 6 decades.
The ambassador also referred to the recent decision of the US administration to reincorporate Cuba to the list of countries that allegedly sponsor terrorism, despite the request for it to be removed from many countries in the world.
The JVP party is part of the winning coalition, JVP/NPP, of the current Sri Lankan government. Also participating in the meeting were Maribel Duarte González, First Secretary of the Cuban Embassy, and Ruvini Kalpana Madhubashini, from the JVP party.
