Meeting of the Cuban ambassador in Sri Lanka with the Chairman of the Tourism Board of the western province

Colombo, March 29, 2024. At the headquarters of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Sri Lanka, Ambassador Andrés Marcelo González Garrido received Sugath Hewapathirana, Chairman  of the Tourism Board of the western province.
During the fraternal meeting, the diplomat told the Sri Lankan manager about the next international tourism fair, FITCuba 2024, which will be held from May 2 to 5 in Jardines del Rey, north of the central province of Ciego de Ávila, with the event being of the most important professional nature of the Cuban tourism industry, as well as referring to the investment possibilities in Cuba in different sectors of the economy.
For his part, Sugath Hewapathirana showed interest in the promotion of tourism from Sri Lanka to Cuba, as well as the possibilities of exchanges with Cuban institutions for the development of bilateral relations.
The Western Province is one of the nine provinces of Sri Lanka and the most densely populated in the country. It has  three districts, including the capital, Colombo.
